We first came together in September 1978 to form a Catholic lay women’s community. The seven women who came to live in Pomona, California at that time were responding to God’s call to live a more deeply committed Catholic Christian life. Each had been touched by the message of the Apostolate of Christian Renewal through the preaching of Fr. Luke Zimmer, SS.CC. We had been given the desire, vision and hope to be received into the Catholic Church as a religious institute in order to further the message of the Apostolate and its response to the call of Vatican Council II to a life of holiness.
We were officially erected as a Public Association of the Faithful by Cardinal Archbishop Roger M. Mahony in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California USA, December 13, 1989.
