"Behold the Handmaid of the Lord..."
A Handmaid is woman who has been called by God the Father to a life of consecrated witness in the Church, which proceeds from an intimate union with the Blessed Trinity, living Jesus' Way of Life of chastity, poverty, obedience and charity as spouse of Christ by professing the Evangelical Counsels.
She lives in union with the Blessed Trinity and all creation becoming a "living prayer of unity" with God, self and others -- a Saint (being Jesus for and to others), a“living prayer of unity” by:
~ living an intimate personal and liturgical prayer life, desiring to be totally committed and conformed to Christ.~ sharing and sacrificing as "a sincere gift of self" by living Jesus' Way of Life:
- private prayer
- community prayer
- fasting and penance
- spreading the Good News
- helping the needy
- carrying His Cross
- and forgiving
Perhaps the Lord is calling you to consecrated life!
